Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)
Using an electric motor, BEVs are powered by a high-capacity battery that charges when plugged in. Throughout your entire drive - starting off, accelerating, cruising, braking or at rest - the electric motor is used to power the vehicle.Â
BEVs have improved acceleration, no tailpipe CO2 emissions, and are quieter because they do not have a combustion engine.

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
The Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) default mode is EV driving, harnessing purely all-electric power. The petrol engine acts as a back-up when the electric battery is running low. The electric battery can be recharged by plugging into an electricity supply, at home or at a public charging station.
